Gentle Yoga: This supportive and healing class is open to all levels, new or experienced. While the majority of the class is in the Vinyasa Flow style, we will also explore Yin Yoga and some Restorative postures.  The class generally begins with sun salutations, transitioning to a series of standing postures before moving to seated poses and savasana. Students will also have the option to work with back bends and inversions. Props are provided to ensure that all students can explore poses comfortably and safely. This class is perfect for ALL levels, from beginners who are ready to explore or experienced students who need to balance with more gentle practice.  Tuesday evenings  Instructor: Kristen MinioSaturday Yoga - This all-level Yoga class is an opportunity to restore your health from inside out through mindful movement & breathing techniques.  The class provides you with tools for self-awareness, relaxation, strength, flexibility & balance.  Proper alignment & modifications are key components of the class.  Please bring your own Yoga mat. Masks are encouragedParticipants will be at a distance of 6 - 14 feet apart, 14 feet if you are not wearing a mask.If you are experiencing sickness/symptom's, we ask you do not attendClasses will be made up if cancelled due to the weather.  Weather cancellations will be emailed to you on the morning of class.

Join us for a presentation of The Proper Ladies.  A story about the U.S. Suffrage Movement, captured in song and readings of the time.  Performed by Anabel Graetz and Deborah Goss, this show captures the history and emotion of the fight for women's right to vote.  Learn stories of suffragists like Arkwright Hutton or Connecticut's very own Smith Sisters.  The event will be outdoors in Riverside Park at the Gazbo at 4pm.

In partnership with Thompson Public Schools, Thompson Recreation is providing this Teacher Support Program open children( grades 2- 7) of Thompson Public School teachers and faculty. Students will receive assistance with their distance learning program as well as structured activities throughout the day including time outside, crafts, and games. Students must provide their own learning device. A paraprofessional staff will assist students with their distance learning provided by their district.  The program is held in a classroom in Thompson Public School and is limited to 12 students. Students will not interact with students outside of their program classroom. Students will be required to wear masks when inside. Students must provide their own lunch. Snack will be provided. Registration is by monthly sessions. You may choose five days or three days per week.  If you choose the 3 days/week option you may select whichever days work best for your schedule. You must call the office to select your days. These days may be different week to week but must be selected at the time of registration. There are no refunds for missed days. Refunds will be given should the school schedule change.New registrations will be accepted on a rolling basis if space is available. Recreation and more! We mix a little learning with a lot of fun activities. The curriculum includes outside play, science fun, arts and crafts, and special events. We offer both a before school program and an after school program. Currently, the schedule of the program reflects a full 5-day in person return to school schedule. Thompson Recreation will adjust the Before & After School schedule should the school schedule change. Students are grouped based on age into small groups. A staff trained in CPR/First Aid is always present. Space is limited to 24 at before school care and 24 at after school care. Registration is by monthly (4 week) sessions.
