The Thompson Recreation Department offers the town's youth a variety of programs and activities. We invite you to join us for some great acclivities and some FUN!!

Adventure SUMMER camp
Eight weeks of summer fun - a day camp for ages 5-13 held at Quaddick State Park. June 28 - August 20, 2010. Activities include crafts, sports, nature, field trips, games swimming, specials, and weekly themes. Open to resident of all towns. Before and after care is also available. Transportation provided within Thompson. Register by pre-pay 50 % by June 11 to save money! New this year: 10% discount for each child in a family after the 2nd child registered.

Learn the fundamentals and more in a non-competetive environment. This co-ed camp is open to ages 7 - 17.

Bicycle Rodeo june 5
Bicycle Rodeo is for wonderful event for boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 14. There will be a bicycle inspection and adjustment session as well as an obstacle course! Prizes and ribbons will be awarded.

Purely Recreation after school program available up to last day of school
An after school care program designed for children in grades K-8th. The curriculum includes outside play, gym activities, science fun, arts and crafts, half day field trips and special events.

This after-school program for K-4 is held on Thursdays at Koinonia School of Sports in Thompson. Kids get to swim in a heated pool and play gym games.

This monthly arts and crafts class is held afterschool in the Mary R. Fisher Elementary Art Room. The program is designed for students in grades K-4th.

Babysitter Training Course
Every parent wants a responsible babysitter! The American Red Cross Babysitter Training Program will help potential babysitters by providing them with some of the skills that this type of service requires. This hands-on, interactive course will get you prepared!

February vacation Fun
Join us or some fun activities during your February vacation. Two programs to choose from - Monster Art or Scrapbooking.
Jump rope for heart
This year's jump rope for heart will be Friday February 5 in the MRFES gym immediately after school. The event is for K-4th graders. Join us in this fun event to raise money for the American Heart Association. The snow date is Feb. 26.

Youth Ski at Mount Wachusett

This six week ski program is open to students in grades 5-12. Students ski afterschool once per week beginning Monday, January 4, 2010. Applications are available in the Recreation office, Town Hall, and school offices. Registration deadline is November 18, 2009.

Youth Basketball
>> WINTER BASKETBALL <<
Thompson Youth Basketball is open to ages 6-14. Participants cannot attend high school.
It is an instructional league with an emphasis on the social, physical, and emotional development of each player. The program begins with the player evaluations in November and practice and games begin the beginning of December. Mandatory player session on Nov. 19, 2009 (date was changed from Nov. 17 due to schedule conflict.). Coaches and Assistant Coaches needed.
